The Chelsea’s House sober living home reinforces honesty and integrity as we provide support along the journey to cultivating a new, constructive and optimistic sober lifestyle. We also include fun social events, like our weekly BBQ and bowling nights. Clients also learn life skills through one on one mentoring and fun events, like cooking with exceptional private chefs! Also included, our community offers activities, like weekend rock climbing, golf, and basketball.
We have the sole goal of connecting you with the providers who will help you the most - Period. At Chelsea’s House, you can expect to meet other male residents who are committed to their sobriety, have completed some form of primary treatment, and pass regular unannounced breathalyzer and urine tests. Our community offers extensive structure, much of which is optional. Peer to peer support is an essential component of recovery and The Chelsea’s House only accepts residents who have made a commitment to giving recovery a chance; we work together as a community to overcome the challenges in early recovery. With 24/7 management and support, we can help you find an appropriate job, connect with the recovery community through volunteer opportunities and activities, find the right treatment resources, and build a foundation in sobriety. Learning to live a happy life free of alcohol and drugs takes time, but you can do it if you want to.

I wish the rest of the population was this honest, direct, real and open! “Yes, I said, I am a recovered bulimic.” How lovely to just be able to share the secret of my past like it was no big deal…so refreshing. Cooking with “my guys” at Chelsea’s House fills me with energy, hope and optimism. Last night we blanched, squeezed and finely chopped six bags of spinach to mix with ricotta, Parmesan and nutmeg. As requested, I taught them how to cut open a chicken breast, like a book, pound it flat then “bread it” in flour, eggs and breadcrumbs. We made a mushroom, parsley, garlic and lemon sauce (not shown here) to bring it all together.

At Teras, we offer structured sober living with flexible structure to meet the needs of those returning to family, work, school, or other commitments. At Teras, our experienced team, plus ancillary providers, provide a high level of support for clients to take action in a recovery fellowship, and engage outside structure. You are more likely to maintain long-term sobriety by entering and committing to a structured transitional living environment, like Chelsea’s House. That’s why we encourage our clients to consider staying 6 months to one year. Teras, also located in Lexington MA, offers a less structured, but still supportive model of high standards sober living. When teaching cooking with “my guys”, I am not a professional cook; I am a human being, cooking. Just because we may dump too much cinnamon in an apple turnovers doesn’t mean we aren’t “good enough”; we just let it go and move forward.
